Throne Ottoman "White Elephant"
Magnificently carved from sese wood, a proud bull (male) elephant bears the weight of an ottoman. Eddison Agbeko carves a traditional Ashanti throne for the contemporary décor. "The elephant is the strongest animal in the forest," Agbeko says. Thus he carries the king himself. The elegant ottoman receives an antique finish with white clay.

Dangerous Furniture Rating
Even cool and modern furniture often cause accidents.
Falls are the most common office accident. Injuries may result from slips, or falls from chairs and elevations.
Falls are the most common type of accident among young children. For example, each year there are close to 20,000 emergency ward visits following falls among children aged 0-3 years in Sweden.
Here is my rating.
1. A lot of people (even not children) adore rocking, sitting in their chairs. Falls occur really often. So the first place is occupied by chairs. Maybe idea of some Eastern people to sit on the floor is not too bad? ;)
2. Oh these bed-falls. There’s no need to tell about them. Suppose beds are lower than chairs, so 2nd place.
3. Sometimes you sleep on sofas. Have you seen “Secret window” with Johnny Depp? Do you remember his night fall? It’s fascinating.
4. High chairs and changing tables concern only kids. ”Stood up in his high chair, fell backwards headfirst onto the parquet floor, contusion of the head.”
5. The danger of tables has another nature. One clumsy gesture and your fork is under the table. You’re looking for it in the dark. And, finally, “I get it! O-ouch!”
Uhmm… Stop-stop-stop. I’d better to get rid of some furniture in my room. Does anybody need a sofa?

How To Choose A Bed Or Mattress By Florence Cardinal
What's your bed like? Is it starting to look a bit the worse for wear? Does it sag in the middle? Can you feel the shape of the springs when you lie down? I've even heard of people who were trying to sleep on a mattress so old that the springs were actually sticking through the cover! I certainly hope you are not in that category.

Cuckoo clocks
Friedrich Eisenlohr (1805–1854), professor of architecture at Karlsruhe Polytechnic, designed a case for Black Forest clocks in 1850-51 based on the gatekeeper lodges he had designed and built for the Badenian Rhine Valley Railroad. It proved to be an extremely successful design. Bahnhausle clocks can still be found in many clock and souvenir shops all over the world. Their story is worth telling.
And one more thing... The world's largest cuckoo clock from wikipedia :)

World's Largest Chair
Bassett Furniture has built what they claim as the "World's Largest Chair" as a part of it's centennial celebration.
The chair is 20' 3" tall, 8' 2" wide and it's seat height is 9' 1". It weighs 7,900 pounds and took 1,509 man hours to construct. It is based on the "Grove Park Mission" style of chair that they sell in their stores. The chair is made of layers of solid ash and the seat is made of fiberglass.

Rocking chair history
We all know that the rocking chair is a distinctly american passion, its origins, however, are less clear. Adding skates or rockers to the bottom of chairs probably evolved from the cradle and the rocking horse, which both predate the rocking chair. apparently no one thought to apply the idea to furniture for adults until the eighteenth century.
The word 'rocker' originated in the 15th century and indicated the person responsible for rocking the cradle. In the 18th century it also meant an orator who put others to sleep. Anyway, it was not until 1787 that the earliest dated citation ' ROCKING CHAIR' appeared in the oxford english
dictionary for usage.

Sustainability
The term sustainability can be difficult to define for the contemporary furniture designer/manufacturer. Sustainability can mean social responsibility, use of non-polluting technologies and certified materials, employment fairness and more. Though these "manufacturing with a conscience" ideals cannot be argued with, often they are difficult to implement on a regular basis. To encompass these practices we need to be responsible for the production cycle from raw material acquisition through to manufacture, end use and final disposal.
